We’re all enjoying the Messiah Complex crossover in Uncanny X-Men. However, we’ve got a couple of gripes. Watch this episode to find out what they could be doing better. Then, in our Newsarama Sneak Review, we check out Youngblood #1 and Nightwing #140. In Youngblood, we think the story line sounds a little familiar. Watch the show and see what we mean. We spoil the “big” reveal at the end of Nightwing #140, so be warned. Then in our speed round we check out Thunderbolts #118, Northlanders #2, Shark Man #1, Wildstorm Revelations #1, and Gravel #0 In our viewer mail we talk about how we’d feel if by this time next year, Marvel has undone the end result of “One More Day”.

X-men has been notorious for making time traveling a bit confusing in old comics and cartoons.

I’ve just picked up and read through issue 0-9 of the comic “Fall of Cthulhu” and it’s great, story driven take and continuation from a grand H.P. Lovecraft short story. I’d love to hear your take on the comic, also there’s a TPB with the first 0-7 issues out “I got lucky and found all the issues at my local comic shop instead of having to go with the TPB”

Review, preview. And “thanks you”? WTH?
Regardless, entertaining as always. I still would love to hear you guys discuss series that are already complete, and give recommendations for would-be readers. So I’ll insist in your comments section.
Thanks for sharing – you guys deserve more viewers.

I don’t think Peter and MJ being married ruined Spider-Man, but it was just never written correctly. They kept showing MJ as just his wife caught in the background. She was never portrayed as a realistic person. They should have focussed in on making the marriage more realistic, and we would’ve had something that wouldn’t need a retcon. It also seemed like everything went downhill after Romita and JMS left (except the whole gwen babies. Bad move JMS. Bad move).

I agree. It WAS written well. But it’s ludicrous, offensive and wholly unnecessary. Felt like a way for the editorial team to get out of a box without having to be creative.

I’ve got mixed feelings about OMD. I felt the whole thing just came and went to quick. To do a retcon that big in only four issues, felt sloppy to me. Not that I like the idea much anyway. But, in its defence, I thought it was written well.

Which movie will I not be seeing? You get three guesses.
I’m glad the web shooters are gone. I’m glad that Harry is back. I think that the erradication of the marriage is hugest mistake Marvel has ever made.

they need script writers and the middle guy needs sedatives.

Thank GOD I’m not a Spider Man collector!!!!

WAR RAMBO!!

I see that OMD got rid of some stuff that I was ambivalant to. (Organic web shooters, I didn’t even think about that anymore) and the Other storyline was being ignored anyway, but even so it got rid of so much more that I actually enjoyed that when I weigh in on it I gotta go negative. I have always disagree with Joe Q about the Marriage between MJ and Peter and I always will.

I thought Shark Man was entertaining. And Thuderbolts is just a GREAT COMIC.

I’m a big fan of Nightwing. He’s the original Robin. But he’s grown up and moved on. He can’t be “Boy Wonder” forever. But he doesn’t want to be Batman Jr. either. I think he’s a great character.
Visits from Superman can get tiresome, however.

RE: How would I feel if Marvel undid “one more Day” a year from now??? I wouldn’t f***ing care! Straczynski & Quesada are both JERKS and have ruined the Spider-man franchise for the forseeable future, and it will be a long time before I bother with it again.
