Dodge Dakota Crew Cab TRX4 Review – Kelley Blue Book

FORMORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com Dodge Dakota Crew Cab TRX4. Bigger is not always better. Take pickup trucks, for example. Some buyers need to tow a boat or a horse trailer and for them a full-size pickup makes sense. But for those who just need to haul sacks of mulch or tow a jet-ski, a full-size pickup may not make sense. Which is the reason-for-being for the Dodge Dakota. Welcome to our comprehensive Kelley Blue Book review of the Dodge Dakota. While technically a midsized truck, the Dodge Dakota offers buyers much of what they love about full-size pickups but in a trimmer package. An optional V8 engine allows for an impressive 7000-pound tow rating and an available crew cab features four conventional doors leading to a roomy, almost full-size, interior. I have the 2009 Dakota crew cab 4×4. Im happy with the truck. it looks kind of delicate, but it does the job. I also have a Silverado 2002, which has more power and is better for work, but the Dakota is like a fine car. the suspension and interior make it woth it. I just relax in the Dakota.

@usa1america even a 4 cylinder taco can beat this LOL

  7. MrTONYTONYM says:

    4 cylinder is enough……

  8. Fx4Ranger2002 says:

Too bad Ford never updated the Ranger and gave it a full size backseat like Toyota,Nissan,Dodge, Chevy, etc.. did. Other than the cab room I cant complain about the Ranger because unlike these other brands of midsize trucks, Rangers usually only need regular tune-ups and have been known to have more than 300k+ miles on them before they need a new motor.

  9. phaetegon4 says:

Having a V8 in those things was a BAD idea, it’s too much for that little truck and comes with too many issues…

  10. phaetegon4 says:

Oh my goodness, I know what you mean. I have an 04 dakota and it’s giving me so much crap it’s ridiculous!!

  11. Cloud6221 says:

Dakota is getting replaced with the jeep wrangler like multipurpose vehicle (mid sized truck).

  12. JFguitar22 says:

    ok thank you very much!

  13. ReinforcedRitter says:

An average of the V6 3.7L Dodge Dakota is about 16mpg and about a max of 20mpg. It depends on whether it’s manual; 2WD or 4WD; Liter size; and what year it is. Some of them can get up to 22mpg. Note: Manual trucks get better mileage than automatics. Less cylinders help get better mileage. And if it’s a 4WD it’s going to be heavier because of the extra mechanics of the drive shaft connecting to the front axle. Hope this helped.

  14. JFguitar22 says:

how are the v6 3.7 on fuel ??

  15. Shareallicu says:

Dodge Dakota or Toyota Tacoma??? I know I want the V6, 4 door! :)

  16. cripin2021 says:

i dont like anything newer than 2004. it seems everybody’s going for the ugly futuristic lazer-cut body look, and theyre making them from cheaper parts. plus with some of these newer designs, theyre making it to where you cant work on em yourself like any older car, you gotta take it into a mechanic & fork out more money.

  17. ChallengerGuy22 says:

the last good year was 04 have looked worse and worse ever after maybe if they made it look ok they wouldn’t have to cancel it.

  18. Motorfordtoyota says:

HEy this dakota is UGLY, Unreliable, and Cheap in build quality, but not in price!

  19. execdyke91 says:

    How sad to hear.

  20. dakotabu says:

I have 2001 dodge dakota sport V-8 4×4. My truck is great running for 9 year. I try buy 2010 dodge dakota. But it look cheap and not right! @omg122448 is right. I do not trust this !! Fiat announced that the Dakota will be discontinued in 2011!! I asked dealer at dodge about it. They said “2011 dodge dakota will not come anymore!!”

  21. Konformation07 says:

if that 4.7 had a manual gearbox I would take a stab at it

  22. omg122448 says:

My 02 dakota sport is higher off the ground than this one and it is stock, not to mention how top heavy they look.

  23. drummerblade says:
